Creating eco-friendly up-cycled clothing & accessories since 2014

“Sustainable fashion is not a trend, it’s a responsibility.”  - Livia Firth

Bat-Fish Originals

Bat-Fish Originals are made from repurposed, reclaimed & vintage textile stock, ensuring the materials do not end up in landfills. Using this existing yardage all pieces are designed & built by me into brand new unique wearable art.

Bat-Fish Whimsy

Batfish Whimsy is a line of innovative & creative accents & accessories. These interesting pieces are designed using unconventional & repurposed materials. The goal is to show just how versatile reclaimed textiles are, producing beautiful & unique pieces limited only by your imagination.

Tube*Bella

This line of jewelry consists of pendants, earrings & Green Goddess necklaces all created using the inner tubes of bicycle tires & found objects. Tube*Bella - jewelry that has been around the block, literally.

The Fused Line

The fused line is made up of existing garments that have been lovingly reworked, reinvisioned & altered to create a brand new product. By modifying these garments it extends their life & keeps them from ending up in the landfills.

Molly Lee Vintage

Molly Lee Vintage is a collection of vintage clothing paying homage to my mother, Molly Lee Yerrell, who was a fashion designer in London in the early 1950’s. These pieces have come across my path while hunting for garments to reclaim & repurpose. Buying Vintage clothing is a cornerstone of the sustainable fashion movement. By giving garments a second life, pre-loved fashion diverts textile waste from landfills.

Hello!

I am Tracy Yerrell, an Eco-Designer & Bat-Fish Studio is where all the magic happens!

Created in 2014 to address the overwhelming issue of textile waste created by the fast fashion industry, Bat-Fish Studio prides itself as a high fashion lab where textile waste is reimagined as edgy, runway worthy statement pieces.

My work is centred around the concept of “Creative Alchemy” - a transformative process that reengineers discarded materials into one of a kind wearable art, designed to surprise & entice.

My mission is to help save the planet by proving that sustainability & luxury are not mutually exclusive. We embrace the makeover by juxtaposing the industrial with the whimsical, marrying materials like upholstery off-cuts & dead-stock with abandoned lace & antique doilies.

This process isn’t always straightforward, textiles fight back, forcing a level of re-engineering that results in a more resilient and unique end product.

At the heart of Bat-Fish Studio is the belief that every body is as unique as the art it wears. We celebrate the personality of the garment and the individual spirit of the wearer, ensuring that every piece is an unapologetic statement of beauty and environmental stewardship.
